Bangladesh is far behind other developing Asian countries on the path towards a more resilient and independent energy system despite being the seventh most vulnerable country affected by climate change. The IPCC warns that climate change may cost Bangladesh 2 – 9% of its GDP by 2050. Bangladesh needs a holistic policy development approach that eases clean energy investments and prioritises grid improvement and energy storage systems to address power variability, climate change adaptation, mitigation, and loss and damage efforts to ensure the country secures a more sustainable energy future.
